Yangming Campus

Focus: Medicine & Life Sciences

Situated on the hills of Beitou, near the Shipai MRT station. This scenic campus is the headquarters of NYCU’s medical excellence. It is close to the famous Beitou Hot Springs and offers stunning views of the Taipei basin.

A. National Palace Museum

Near Yangming Campus

Home to the world’s largest collection of Chinese imperial artifacts, spanning 8,000 years of history. The Jadeite Cabbage and Meat-Shaped Stone are must-see treasures.

B. Taipei 101 & Xinyi District

The Modern Landmark

Once the tallest building in the world, Taipei 101 represents Taiwan’s economic prowess. The surrounding Xinyi District is a modern hub packed with luxury malls, sky bars, and fine dining.

C. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

History & Grandeur

A monumental landmark with iconic blue and white architecture, sitting on a vast plaza flanked by the National Theater and Concert Hall. Witness the impressive hourly changing of the guard ceremony. It is located just a few MRT stops from the Beimen Campus.

D. Dadaocheng & Dihua Street

Old Taipei Vibe

The oldest trading center in Taipei. Walk through streets lined with Baroque-style architecture, selling dried goods, herbal medicine, and tea. Visit the Xiahai City God Temple to pray for good relationships.

E. Beitou Hot Springs

Relaxation near Yangming

Accessible by MRT, Beitou is famous for its sulfuric hot springs and Japanese colonial-era architecture. Visit the steaming Beitou Thermal Valley or relax in a public bathhouse.

F. Tamsui Riverside & Old Street

Sunset Views

Located at the terminal station of the MRT Red Line (the same line as Yangming Campus), Tamsui is famous for its beautiful riverside sunsets, historical colonial forts (Fort San Domingo), and bustling street food scene.

G. Jiufen Old Street

Mountain Town Day Trip

A former gold mining mountain town famous for its narrow alleyways, glowing red lanterns, and traditional teahouses overlooking the coastline. A popular day-trip destination from Taipei, often evoking the atmosphere of classic animated films.

A. Xiao Long Bao @ Din Tai Fung

The World-Famous Dumpling

No visit to Taipei is complete without visiting Din Tai Fung. The original store is on Xinyi Road. The Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) are famous for their 18 intricate folds and rich broth.

B. Beef Noodle Soup

The Capital’s Soul Food (首都的靈魂美食)

Taipei holds an annual Beef Noodle Festival. Try Lin Dong Fang (林東芳) for its herbal broth or Yong Kang Beef Noodle (永康牛肉麵) for the spicy braised flavor.

The Largest Night Market

Located near the Yangming Campus (Jiantan Station). It is a maze of food stalls. Must-try items include Hot Star Large Fried Chicken and Oyster Omelets.

Located near the Beimen Campus (Shandao Temple Station). Be prepared to queue for their Thick Clay Oven Rolls and fresh Soy Milk.
